Glory Hunting

This morning my heart is burning. I’ve been preparing to brief the media team before our worship livestream later today and I feel overwhelmed with gratitude that we get to pursue the Father’s heart tonight.

Tonight we go glory hunting.

There’s a balancing act that I’m learning as we build up the team, between excellence and reckless adoration. We want to bring artistic excellence to our media because he is so worthy of our best, but our media team is also an extension of our worship team. Our first, and most important objective, is to catch his heart. If everything goes wrong, if the cameras stop working, the sound system doesn’t wanna play ball and we have to record the whole worship set on a nokia phone… but He shows up (and we learn something) then we win.

The scripture going around and around in my head right now is Psalm 22:3: “Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.”

Those praises could be sounds from musical instruments or voices but I believe that, as we worship with our craft (our cameras and equipment), God will inhabit that form of praise. What does it look like when we aren’t just broadcasting audio and video, but praise and by extension: the presence of the enthroned King?

I’m so excited to see what God has in store for us tonight. There might still be some kinks in our tech that need to be ironed out but our hearts are burning and I believe the Lord is here.

We are photographers, videographers, on wildlife safari; and I can feel us closing in on the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
